**** UPDATE TO POLICY *** BACKGROUND SCREENING FOR ALL NEW COACHES, MANAGERS AND OFFICIALS MUST BE COMPLETED BY NOVEMBER 30, 2008
September 25, 2007 - Under the direction of USA Hockey policy, the AAHA Board has voted to require Backgrounds checks for all NEW coaches, managers and officials by November 30, 2008. Once cleared the names will be posted on this site. At this time, the requirement will be TO SCREEN THIRD YEAR. The website will show all coaches, managers and officals that have been screened and the year of completion. There are two options available; if you choose to fill out the screening application form and submit by email, AAHA will process and pay directly, or you can choose to use the self check login site and you will be required to pay by credit card. If you choose the self check method, once you obtain the confirmation report and are cleared, you must send the notice to your assocaition who will reimburse you. Your association will then be remibusred by AAHA. You must also send the cleared notice to Rick Van Fleet, AAHA Background Check Coordinator and ACE, for posting on the website. This is an important initiative and we must have 100% compliance. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

COYOTES SEEK NONPROFITS FOR 50/50 RAFFLE FUNDRAISERS
GLENDALE, Ariz. --- With the 2008-09 hockey season quickly approaching, the Phoenix Coyotes are currently seeking non-profit organizations to participate in the team’s in-game 50/50 raffle fundraisers.
50/50 raffle tickets are sold for $2 each during Coyotes home games at Jobing.com Arena. A drawing held at the end of the second intermission determines the lucky winner who receives half of the money raised that game. The remaining money is split between the participating nonprofit and Coyotes Charities.
To participate in the 50/50 raffle fundraiser, the organization must be a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and needs to be able to provide a minimum of 20 volunteers over the age of 18 to sell raffle tickets.
For nonprofits who are interested in participating in a 50/50 raffle fundraiser, please send the organization’s federal tax ID number and confirmation of 501(c)(3) status to Phoenix Coyotes 50/50 Raffle, Attention: Coyotes Charities, 6751 N. Sunset Blvd. #200, Glendale, AZ 85305.

Dear Hockey Player, Parent, Coach, Manager or Fan,
Welcome to the new AAHA (Arizona Amateur Hockey Association) Website. We have moved our website to a new host and updated the content and information available. We would like to become your source for hockey information in the state.
AAHA is the official affiliate of USA hockey and governs amateur hockey in the state. Each association that has at least 75 members has representation on the AAHA board. The AAHA board meetings are held each month and we encourage you to get involved in this organization.
Included on this new updated site are the AAHA Bylaws, the AAHA Polices and the AAHA USA Hockey Affiliate agreement that all the Hockey Associations in the state must follow.
We have also added a new hockey calendar that can be used by everyone in the state. If your team or association has an event coming up or if you know of any hockey related activity, tryout or camp, just e-mail it to coachrick@qwest.net and we will add it to the calendar. By publishing this information, we are not endorsing these programs but instead serving as an information source to publicize all the hockey activities in the state and allow everyone to make their own decisions on what programs that they want to participate in.
We have also added links to all the hockey associations, rinks and professional hockey programs in the state. If your link is not present, just e-mail it to us and we will add it.
Again, if you have any input, suggestions, questions or would just like to get more involved in Arizona hockey, please feel free to e-mail me at azamateurhockey@yahoo.com or call me at 602-999-9194.
Thanks,
Jon Brooks
President
Arizona Amateur Hockey Association
