LUKE MOFFATT- FORMER DYHA PLAYER TO JOIN NDTP PROGRAM ON ROAD TO MICHIGAN
October 3, 2007 - Detroit Compuware forward Luke Moffatt met with Michigan coach Red Berenson last night (9/21/2007) and verbally committed to the University of Michigan. Moffatt originally hails from the Phoenix-area, and is considered the best 1992-born forward in the United States. Moffatt has already accepted an offer to play for the NTDP next season, where he will play for two years on the Under 17 and Under 18 teams based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan, before joining the Wolverines in 2010. The National Team Development Program, NTDP is a USA Hockey sponsored developmental program. Earlier this past summer, Moffatt was selected second overall by the Kelowna Rockets in the WHL bantam draft, but ended up opting to go the NCAA route. Moffatt had offers from many schools including Boston College, Maine, Notre Dame, and Colorado College.

Arizona Player named to U.S. Under-17 Select team
USA Hockey has announced the 21-man roster for the 2007 U.S. Under-17 Select Team which will be entered in the Under-17 Five Nations Tournament Aug. 20-24 in Strakonice, Tabor, and Pribram, Czech Republic. Among those chosen as a forward to represent the U.S. is Kyle Beattie of Avondale, Arizona. Kyle played on the PF Chang's U-16 Tier I team last season and will be a member of the PF Chang's U-18 Tier I team this season.
Those going on the trip were chosen from USA Hockey's recent Select 16 Camp in Rochester, NY. The squad's head coach will be Jon Cooper, the head coach of the NAHL champion St. Louis Bandits. His assistant will be Yale University assistant coach Kyle Wallack.
