AAHA BACKGROUND SCREENING IN ACCORDANCE WITH USA HOCKEY SCREENING POLICY

AAHA has implemented a new online background screening program in partnership with Protect Youth Sports for the 2011-2012 season. We have been screening since the 2006-2007 playing season (including Spring and Summer) with Acxiom. Those who were cleared with Acxiom and are still current will not need to reapply until that screening expires.

All coaches (head and assistants), managers, Official's and other individuals who have routine access to children (anyone under the age of majority [18]), as well as Officials for Adult games, must consent to be screened through Protect Youth Sports and complete the screening process every third (3rd) year. If you are age 18 or older, and meet one of the mentioned positions, you will be required to comply with the background screening process.

Background screening for the 2011-2012 season must be completed within 30 days of accepting a position with an association if background screening is not current. After 30 days, any person that is required to be screened and who does not have the proper screening certification will be disqualified from participating in any AAHA activities.


IF YOU WERE BACKGROUND SCREENED IN 2009, 2010, or 2011 YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE RESCREENED THIS YEAR.
 
To access the list of 'cleared' applicants, make sure you have "clicked" on the Background Screening TAB at the top of this page - doing so will display the 'LETTER TABS' to the left of this message.

Click on the "Letter Tab" to the left to search for a name, year the screening will expire and the association the person was affiliated with when 'cleared'.  If the name you are searching for is not listed, they have not been screened nor approved for AAHA sanctioned events.

Things you will need to complete the application: Name, Address, Phone number, Email address, Birth date, SS number, Driver License number, USA Hockey Registration number (if it applies to you, i.e., Coach, Referee)

NOTE: LOCAL ASSOCIATIONS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO RESTRICT PARTICPATION IN THEIR PROGRAMS REGARDLESS OF COMPLETION OF THE SCREENING PROCESS.
