Arizona hockey roots grow very deep for the Doan family.  Josh Doan, son of former Arizona Coyote, Shane Doan will skate into the spotlight and make his NHL debut tonight at Mullett Arena.  Shane committed his whole NHL career spanning more than 20 years playing for the Arizona Coyotes franchise.  It appears Josh will look to follow in his dad’s footsteps.

Josh began skating at the Ice Den Scottsdale and played all his youth hockey path with the Jr. Coyotes, and in fact, aside from two years he played with the USHL’s Chicago Steel (2019-2021), Josh has played his entire hockey career in the Grand Canyon state.

Josh was drafted to the Arizona Coyotes in the 2nd round, 37th overall in the 2021 NHL Draft.  That same year, Josh committed to Arizona State’s NCAA team and played the 2021 and 2022 seasons before signing his 1st professional contract. Assigned to the Arizona Coyote’s AHL team, the Tucson Roadrunners down in Tucson, Doan has exploded with 26 Goals and 20 Assists in 62 games.  He clearly has earned his call up from the AHL to the Coyotes!

Tonight, will be a special time for Arizona hockey and we hope you are able to witness history when Josh skates out onto the ice tonight for his very first time.  See you there!
