Might seem a bit early, particularly when the State Championships for Tier II and AZYHL have not even happened yet, but so that Associations, Coaches, Parents and most importantly players can plan, AAHA is announcing the earliest opening dates for each Levels tryouts for the 2025-26 season.

These dates were discussed and agreed to at the Dec 2024 Hockey Ops meeting so many of you will already be aware of the dates.

Following are the earliest tryout dates for each level:

• Tier I, Youth/Girls - May 1st, 2025, earliest date to start tryouts

May 5th, 2025, 8am, first date to sign Association contract and AAHA Commitment Letter

• Tier II, Youth/Girls - May 8th, 2025, earliest date to start tryouts

May 12th, 2025, 8am, first date to sign Association contract and AAHA Commitment Letter

• AZYHL (House/Rec Travel/Mite Select) All Age Groups/All Divisions - May 15th, 2025, earliest date to start tryouts

May 19th, 2025, 8am, first date to sign Association contract and AAHA Commitment Letter

In addition you might want to familiarize yourselves with the AAHA Policy & Procedure, section 10.3 Recruitment and specifically sub-section 10.3.2, "Member Organizations may only openly solicit or recruit players from other Member Organizations for the purpose of joining an established/advertised team at the new Member Organization during the off-season. The off-season is defined as the time between the USA Hockey National Championship game (for Tier 1/Tier 2 players) or the AAHA State Championship game (for non-tier and house league players) and that individual player signing an AAHA Commitment Letter for the upcoming season or completing a registration to participate in a Member Organization's House League program. No AAHA Commitment Letters may be signed prior to the dates established by the AAHA Board of Directors, those dates are established above. Member Organizations wishing to advertise during the playing season should refer to Section 10.3.10."
